Dharmachakra Buddhist Center is a Buddhist meditation center in northern New Jersey. We offer instruction in meditation and Buddhist spiritual practice through meditation classes, meditation retreats and special meditation events. Meditation is for everyone, from those who seek relaxation to those who wish to follow the Buddhist spiritual path. We promote the teachings and ideals of Kadampa Buddhism in northern New Jersey.
MAKING SOCIAL MEDIA MEANINGFUL
Using social media can be both titillating and frustrating, gratifying or meaningless. Insensitive online posts hurt others. In this special class, we will learn how to use social media mindfully as part of our meditation practice. We can incorporate our online experience into our spiritual life. LEARNING TO LOVE FROM WITHIN
Sometimes our uncontrolled thoughts tell us that we will never be happy, that we don’t deserve good conditions or that we aren’t good enough. This self-hatred is a spiritual obstacle. Learning to meditate can help us to love ourselves. By relying upon a spiritual guide, we can deepen our meditation practice and come to recognize our spiritual potential. Unconditional acceptance lays the foundation for cherishing others. Learn to appreciate the power of love for spiritual transformation.

We all know how to be happy when things are going well in our lives. The challenge comes when things go wrong. If we can’t learn to respond peacefully, we will never be free from our problems. In this series we will explore the root of our problems, and how with meditation we can learn to respond to them peacefully. By learning to meditate, we can maintain a happy mind even when faced with difficult situations.
Wednesdays, February 7, 14, 21; 7:30 – 9 pm, Coba Yoga
This class is designed for beginners. Each class begins with a simple meditation. During the teaching that follows, the instructor explains what meditation is. The last meditation demonstrates how contemplation works. You will be given a meditation that will help you get started at home. Meditations are guided by the instructor and are suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike.
Sundays, 2 – 3 pm in Millburn Mall.

FRIDAY MORNING MEDITATION
Meditation can provide a break in our busy lives. Its purpose is to make our mind calm and peaceful. With a sense of inner peace and well-being we can learn to cope with life’s challenges and create new opportunities for growth. Come and enjoy these guided meditation classes. No prior experience is needed.
