Meditation and Buddhism in New Jersey
Dharmachakra Buddhist Center is a Buddhist meditation center in northern New Jersey. We offer instruction in meditation and Buddhist spiritual practice through meditation classes, meditation retreats and special meditation events. Meditation is for everyone, from those who seek relaxation to those who wish to follow the Buddhist spiritual path. We promote the teachings and ideals of Kadampa Buddhism in northern New Jersey.
HAPPINESS BOOT CAMP
Stop wishing for happiness to come someday and start training now with an inner regimen for peace joy and love. Take radical responsibility for the things that happen to you and use Buddhist meditation to respond positively. This summer meditation series will introduce the system of meditation called lamrim, a time-tested method of cultivating inner peace.
Offered July – August in Millburn Mall, Ridgewood and Shrewsbury.

This class is designed for beginners. Each class begins with a simple meditation. During the teaching that follows, the instructor explains what meditation is. The last meditation demonstrates how contemplation works. You will be given a practice exercise that will help you get started at home. Meditations are guided by the instructor and are suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike.

Stages of the Path to Enlightenment
with Chris Gharbi
Many people understand the importance and the benefits of meditation, but they find it difficult to establish a regular meditation practice. This class will cover the basics of how to begin and make progress on a personal meditation practice in conjunction with the presentation known as the stages of the path to enlightenment (lamrim). This step-by-step method of training will help to establish a joyful and rewarding experience of meditation. Each class will include guided instruction and preparatory prayers, as found in Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s book The New Meditation Handbook.
